Cakes
I love to make specialty cakes. Let me be the first to say that they are not perfect. I have never taken a cake decorating class, so you may notice that they are not up to Wilton's standards. My husband says they are an art project. I'm told they taste really good. My kitchen takes a big hit on the day I'm creating, but that's ok. It's always worth it to see the smile on the face of the recipient, which is usually my kids or Taylor, my niece.
Diaper cake for Sarah's baby shower.
Julie's wedding shower cake.
Brother's 50th Anniversary cake.
I made the beach chair out pop-cicle sticks. I made the beach towel out of a piece of fabric dyed with food color. The beach bag is from a net bag that held garlic.
Wanted to use toys that Taylor could play with afterwards.
Nani, Taylor's grandmother loves my cakes. I love making them for her, too!
Taylor loved donuts. These were made out of cake mix poured into a donut pan.
I made the flowers ahead of time. It made decorating easy the day of the party
I used the shower invitation picture on the cake.
Taylor had a disco themed party so I made a dance floor and purchased some records at party city and put her happy birthday info on the record.
I used taffy to make the apple and fish bones. Cookie crumbs make the dirt edge with some goldfish crackers.
Under the Sea.
Sarah and Tim share a birthday cake. I couldn't make Grumpy cat grumpy. He had to be happy for them.
I loved making a Frozen cake. I added lots of sparkling sprinkles and some toys for her to play with.
Taylor's getting older. No more princess cakes.
